I just finished two busy weeks of spending time with my oldest grandchild as he transitioned into Kindergarten. It seems he had more days off than days in school but that is how his district does it. It was the most fun and joy-filled interruption.
I admire how you find the time to write as much as you do. It is a blessing to see your writings grace my inbox. I read them but don't always comment. Blessings to you friend!
Those grand boys are so much fun and such a blessing—and they also take a lot of time! You’re such an encouragement, Mary. I do appreciate your reading.
Michele, I am finishing developing a four-part retreat series this fall on holiness, and I've jotted down your pithy "formula" - interruptions = sanctification. Thank you!
I think you were the first one I ever "heard" pray (through your blog): "Thy list be done!" I wrote that on a 3 x 5 card and keep it with my other rotating prayer cards! Now i need to add another line to that card: Interruptions = Sanctification! Wonderful insight and advice, Michele!
I feel very special being included in your card stack! Both utterances are a direct reflection of my life long struggle to choose people over projects and to let the Lord set my agenda. Thanks be to God for his faithfulness!
God folds everything into his reconstruction project, and I mean it when I say that if I didn't have "the interruptions" to my writing life, I wouldn't have very much to write about...
I get it! I’ve had the same struggle and God continues to provide interruptions which I believe are for my sanctification. Thank you for putting it into words!
I LOVE the way you said that, and it really does change our perspective if we remember the end goal. This all reminds me of the JBP version of Romans 12:2 where we are told that our lives "may prove in practice that the plan of God for you is good, meets all his demands and moves towards the goal of true maturity."
I can relate to production. I’m afraid that even retired (mostly) I put a high importance on production. I’m noting your view on interruptions. Definitely need to remember that. Even living most of my life in Florida, I’ve never heard of Casselberry. But if you ate collards and cornbread there I’d guess panhandle or central FL. 😉
I want to see you on Substack all the time! That way I could easily share your unique blend of humorous, common sense Maine wisdom and deep biblical knowledge with loads of people who are just waiting for the depth of writing you're known for.

I’m so happy to contribute toward your genius!😍🤩

Amen, Michele, to people over projects and Spirit-led agendas!
I read Maria Von Trapp’s story told by herself. She didn’t come across as a particularly likeable person. She was quite eccentric.
I got the same impression, Jillian. I guess eccentricity comes with the package 🤣
I was not particularly attracted to Maria Von Trapp. She seemed to alienate her children.
I would agree and her broken mothering practices are addressed in Morgan’s book. Very sad… 😔
Wonderful. Love your attitude. Sanctification 🦋

"God continues to PROVIDE interruptions!"

Interruptions are one of the growing pains!
Well said, Michele. Thank you! I look forward to reading Maria. 🌺 Claudia
Thanks, Claudia! I would love to hear your thoughts after reading!

Good instincts! It’s Central Florida!
And I know what you mean about this phase of life—I shouldn’t need to be so concerned with my output!

(hint hint)
Were you a cheerleader in high school? 📣🤣 What would I do without your encouraging voice in my ears?
Well said. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much for reading!
I can so relate! And my day goes so much better when I prayerfully review my list with him and then hand it over!
